Earn Your Purdue Certificate in Industrial Distribution

 As a founding member of the University of Industrial Distribution (UID), ISD provides members with access to the industry's premier educational offering, at the lowest possible cost.

UID is an annual four-day, university-based educational program, where participating distribution and manufacturing professionals hone their skills and improve their competencies. Students choose their own full-day or half-day courses, offered by the industry's leading faculty and experts. Since 1994 over 7,000 industry leaders have attended UID sessions. The program is held at the Indiana University / Purdue University Conference Center in Indianapolis.

As part of the ISD / Purdue University partnership, ISD members may earn the Purdue University Professional Certificate of Industrial Distribution upon the completion of 90 hours of eligible instruction that meets Purdue's requirement of 9 Continuing Education Units [CEUs] or CEU equivalents. There is no charge for the Certificate.

The required 90 hours (9 CEUs) can be completed by:

1. Attending at least one 4-day UID program (30 hours) plus 60 additional hours of approved continuing education credits (including various ISD or industry sponsored educational activities), or,

2. Completing two UID programs (60 hours) plus 30 hours of approved continuing education credits, or,

3. Completing three UID programs (90 hours).

Educational programs sponsored by UID co-sponsoring associations, including ISD, qualify for credits, including education seminars/sessions/workshop at conventions, individual courses offered by associations through their resource centers, educational foundations, as well as other demonstrated education/training venues. 

CEUs or CEU equivalents can also be earned by employees attending their own company's training, as well as attending courses offered by their suppliers and/or customers.  To be eligible, the information should be documented on the Certificate Application Form: the type of training completed, the number of hours completed, the name of the presenter, and an outline and/or copy of the course materials.  It is also possible to use product training.  Again, complete information is required for all sessions.  Courses earning documented CEUs that are offered by outside contractors such as the American Management Association, the American Society for Quality or other educational, professional and/or training firms may also be used to satisfy the CEU requirements.
